Deputy Chief Harry Whitman works to plug a hole in a simulated gas line in an Hazardous Material workshop.  FF were taught how to respond to a dirty bomb, plugging gas leaks, how to handle radioactive materials ie from hospitals and setting up a command system so emergency organizations can pool their resourses

Nearly 200 FF participated from across the Province of Nova scotia

IT'S NOT ALL WORK, WE DO HAVE GET-TOGETHERS FOR PLAY TOO.  HERE SOME OF THE FIRE FIGHTERS ARE WAITING FOR RONNIE TO FINISH BAR-B-QING SOME DELICIOUS STEAKS.


 EHS paramedics supervising fire fighters on the finer points of safely removing passengers from motor vehicle accidents. The majority of the fire fighters in our area are certified Medical First Responders.
